2009 China Bike Ride – Cycle 500km in China and give children affected by the Sichuan Earthquake a brighter future
Accenture
Greater China Corporate Citizenship Council (CCC) is looking for
interested employees from all geographies to take part in the 3rd
Greater China Biking challenge which will take place this September.
For the first time, employees from outside Greater China will be
eligible to participate in the toughest bike ride yet – selected
participants will be cycling 400-500km in just 5 days and in demanding
conditions. They will be raising funds for the Accenture sponsored Hope
School in Sichuan which is currently being built, but is running short
of funds and urgently requires more money in order to reach completion.
Currently,
Greater China employees are voting to decide upon the route. Cyclists
will face either the lost paradise but high altitudes of Shangri-la or
the historical magic but rugged terrain of the Silk Road. Both routes
are located in the less-developed Western part of China which provides
a physically testing but visually spectacular backdrop to this
fund-raising event.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to
experience the exhilarating challenge of intense cycling through
Western China, whilst raising money for children affected by last
year’s devastating earthquake, many of whom lost their homes and family
members in the disaster. We hope as many people as possible will get
involved, whether as cyclists or by helping cyclists to raise funds
through sponsorship.
